Elliott Jones Completes 40-Hour Mediation Training Program

Elliott Jones, senior partner with EmergeLaw, recently completed a 40-hour mediation training program. The Rule 31 Civil Mediation Training course was presented by Stephen L. Shields, JD, LLM, a preeminent Tennessee mediation instructor.

Under Rule 31, a mediator's role "includes, but is not limited to, assisting the parties in identifying issues, reducing obstacles to communication, maximizing the exploration of alternatives, and helping the parties reach voluntary agreements." A mediator cannot exhibit any bias toward any party involved and must "adhere to the highest standards of integrity, impartiality, and professional competence."

With over 45 years' experience guiding clients through the most challenging circumstances, Elliott brings hard-earned wisdom to mediations. His calm demeanor and uncanny ability to simplify the most complicated situations makes it possible for even the most recalcitrant litigants to find common ground and settle their disputes.
