AUTHORS Staff Reports
Local boutique law firm EmergeLaw has added Courtney Gilmer as a new partner. She joins Elliott Jones, Robert Gonzales and Nancy King in the office, which focuses on business bankruptcy, corporate reorganization, creditors' rights, financial services litigation and financial regulatory compliance.
Most recently, Gilmer was vice president for legal and compliance at Advance Financial. Previously, she spent more than 15 years at Baker Donelson, where she was a shareholder. She graduated from Vanderbilt University Law School and focuses on Chapter 11 bankruptcy, out-of-court restructurings, financial services litigation and financial regulatory compliance.
The firm was founded in 2010 as the recession increased demand for bankruptcy specialists. Some local attorneys, including King, predict a similar growth in demand in the coming months.
