Robert's practice is focused on Chapter 11 bankruptcy and out-of-court workouts. He has guided hundreds of businesses through Chapter 11 reorganizations, sales, orderly wind downs, and out-of-court restructurings. His clients come from every industry, ranging from small enterprises with a few employees to public companies with a few thousand.

A significant portion of Robert's practice involves working with real estate and construction enterprises, from general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers, to real estate developers and investment partnerships. Businesses in these sectors offer significant profit potential, but they also face unique and inherent risks. And they can be among the first to get squeezed in an economic downturn.

Robert has built a reputation regionally with fellow attorneys, bankers, and business and accounting professionals as a lawyer with a sharp business sense adept at solving complex problems with multiple parties and competing interests.

Robert earned his law degree from Vanderbilt University in 1994, and was board certified in 2005 as a Business Bankruptcy Law Specialist. He has been consistently recognized as a standout among Nashville insolvency lawyers by publications including Best Lawyers in America, Chambers USA, Nashville Business Journal's Best of the Bar, and Mid-South SuperLawyers.
